Veteran Development Group, Inc.
is a service-connected disabled veteran 501(c)3 nonprofit which provides multiple veteran services. Operation EMPLOY focuses on pairing our military veterans, first responders, transitioning active duty, and their loved ones with employers by assisting with resume writing and submitting to employers and other hiring agencies that may have qualified positions for our veterans and first responders. VDG also provides mentoring to the Veterans Treatment Court at Reno Municipal Court and is the direct 501(c)3 nonprofit for the court, allowing us to assist with costs associated with required substance testing, child care, and more. Currently working on our third program, Little Patriots, to assist our veteran and first responder parents that are obtaining new employment or attending treatment such as rehabilitation temporarily with costs associated with childcare. Our intention is to make a positive change in the lives of our nation’s heroes, allowing them the opportunity to create sustainable, supportive lifestyles and improving their overall quality of life.

ABOUT
Veteran Development Group, Inc. is a service-connected disabled veteran 501(c)3 nonprofit in the northern Nevada area. The program forms partnerships with local employers, daycare facilities, colleges/universities, and the veteran court system. Operation EMPLOY focuses on pairing our military veterans, first responders, transitioning active duty, and their loved ones with employers by assisting with resume writing and submitting to employers and other hiring agencies that may have qualified positions for our veterans and first responders.
Operation: EMPLOY's goal is to foster a commitment to our nation’s heroes that will promote professionalism, strong job skills, and reassert sustainability. Only through positive employment opportunities can a sense of independence be reestablished that will give those who served the ability to provide for themselves and their families with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Once employed, with an income needed to sustain daily living expenses, it is anticipated that there will be a positive change within the city, including the decline in the local homeless veteran population while improving their overall quality of life.
VDG also provides mentoring to the CAMO-RNO Veterans Treatment Court at Reno Municipal Court and is the direct 501(c)3 nonprofit for the court, allowing us to assist with costs associated with required substance testing, child care, rehabilitation fees, and more.
Veteran Development Group, Inc. has an annual holiday event in December in northern Nevada, free to all military, veterans, first responders, and their families through a partnership with Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) and Greater Nevada Field. Operation Camo Christmas focuses on giving the children and their parents a fun day full of activities, superheroes, and toys, of course. Feel free to email if you'd like to sponsor, volunteer, and/or donate!
Our next program is being developed and will provide safe learning space and in-person tutoring for grade school children of Veterans who are full distance learning without interrupting the curriculum of their assigned schools, even if that is homeschooling.
Please feel free to email shane@opemploy.org if you'd like to sponsor, volunteer, need more information, and/or to donate! Thank you for your support!

SERVICES
Veteran Development Group, Inc dba Operation: EMPLOY is a dual-program that is in direct response to the growing number of veterans that are either falling through the cracks or are already entangled with the veteran court system (also known as Vet Court). The goal of these programs is to identify military personnel and first responders, past and present, who are going through the transition to civilian employment and offer a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same; empower the veteran to make positive changes in his/her life.
Employment opportunities include temporary, regular full-time, contract, and direct hire. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit company, finances are provided primarily from investors and federal grants. This allows 100% of all community and in-kind donations to be utilized for our clients, heightening their chance of success and increasing our reach by allowing us to assist those who may not qualify directly for grant services.
Operation: EMPLOY assists our nation's heroes first-hand, and alleviates the stress of separation. These combined services are available for veterans of all eras, wounded warriors, first responders, transitioning active-duty military, and the immediate family members of our clients.
VDG's Shane Whitecloud is also a registered and sworn in Mentor Coordinator through Justice for Vets and works to assist the Veterans Treatment Court at Reno Municipal Court with pairing battle buddies with veterans in the program that need a mentor. VDG serves as the only 501(c)3 affiliated with the Veterans Treatment Court, which allows the program to assist the court with alleviating the costs associated with substance testing, child care, and more. If you would like to make a donation specifically to be used for the veterans in the Treatment Court, please specify at the time of donation.
